Merger of the “Freelife” and “AOS” brands to form “Freelife Outdoorsport”, new brand identity

Purchase and renovation of the staff accommodation in Großreifling; modernisation of the infrastructure at the outdoor camps and of the equipment

2024

Relocation of the Admont booking office directly to the Salza Outdoor Camp and guest house in Großreifling

2022

Acquisition of Freelife Outdoorsport GmbH (www.freelife.at), including the high ropes course, via ferrata and school sports division.

2021

Extension of the equipment depot at Basecamp Enns; modernisation and refurbishment of the existing facilities.

2020/21

Relocation of the booking office and company headquarters from Liezen to Admont. Move into new offices in Admont. Handover of the company from Hartwig Strobl to Lukas and Christoph Strobl.

2020

Complete refurbishment of all guest rooms at the AOS Adventure Guesthouse.

2019

Expansion from the guest transport sector to the passenger transport sector, covering coaches, taxis and hire cars.

2017

Conversion of the Riverhouse Gesäuse from a holiday home to Basecamp Enns.

2015/16

Purchase of the former “Reiflingerhof” inn in the Salzatal valley and its conversion into a modern hostel with an adjoining base camp and kayaking school.

2015

Obtained a travel agency licence; expanded the range of services to include adventure holidays to Zambia, Nepal and Costa Rica.

2011

Opening of Camp Salza, situated directly on the banks of the Salza in Styria, on the grounds of the Weiberlauf campsite. Expansion of the programme to include a kayaking school (http://www.kajakschule.at).

2010

Purchase of the “roadmender’s cottage” in the Gesäuse National Park and its conversion into Riverhouses Gesäuse, a self-catering cottage for guests and friends. Accommodation for 15 people, barbecue area, campfire site, kitchen, showers, etc.

2009

Expansion of the Gesäuse Alpine Park with new zip-line routes.

2006

Opening of a second camp in Golling, near Salzburg. This has expanded our range of activities – particularly in the area of canyoning.

2002

Construction of the Gesäuse Alpine Park, an alpine adventure park just a 5-minute walk from our camp in Johnsbach.

1992

The camp was relocated to Johnsbach, to the Donner Guesthouse. The camp continued to expand in the years that followed.

1990

First rafting camp in the Gesäuse, using old military tents from US stock.

1988–89

Tours on the Upper Enns from Mandling to Schladming, mainly for hotel guests.
