We at Freelife Outdoor are committed to ensuring the digital accessibility of our website and all associated services. This statement provides information about our efforts to comply with the Austrian Accessibility Act (BaFG), which implements EU Directive 2019/882. 01. Status of compliance with requirements

“This website is partially compliant with the requirements of the Web Accessibility Guidelines in accordance with the Austrian Accessibility Act (BaFG). We are constantly working to identify and remove existing barriers.”

 

02. Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

 

a) Non-compliance with accessibility regulations:

 

WP Grid Builder
The WP Grid Builder is used on the website to display overviews (grids and some sliders). Despite the manufacturer’s claims to the contrary, this technology is not fully accessible; whilst it can be used by people with disabilities, in some cases assistive technologies such as screen readers display irrelevant information.

 

Image boxes
Some image boxes contain text that is integrated directly into the images. As a result, the minimum contrast ratios required by the WCAG are not met in all cases. This may limit the readability of the content, particularly for people with visual impairments.

 

Interactive hotspot maps
Interactive hotspot maps are used on some pages, where additional information is displayed when the mouse hovers over markers. These hotspots cannot currently be fully accessed or operated via the keyboard (Tab navigation) and therefore do not meet the requirements for keyboard accessibility.

 

b) Disproportionate burden:

 

Videos on YouTube:
Videos are hosted and published on the YouTube video platform. It is not possible to provide the required audio descriptions or a text alternative (WCAG Success Criterion 1.2.3 (Audio description) and 1.2.5 (Media alternative)), meaning that the spoken content is not available to deaf users. We consider that rectifying this would constitute a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations.

 

Videos in general:
For some recorded videos and audio files, the required audio description or a text alternative is missing (WCAG Success Criterion 1.2.3 (Audio description) and 1.2.5 (Media alternative)), meaning that the spoken content is not accessible to deaf users. We consider that rectifying this would constitute a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations.

 

PDF:

Our PDF documents are not consistently accessible. If you require a specific PDF file from us that is not yet available in an accessible format, please let us know via our contact form. We are working on further improvements to the provision of PDF documents in an accessible format and ask you to contact us if you notice any barriers.

 

c) The content does not fall within the scope of the applicable legal provisions:

  • live-streamed time-based media
  • online maps and mapping services
  • internal sections and external tools
  • external content such as social media feeds

This statement was drawn up on the basis of a self-assessment in accordance with WCAG 2.2.
