2-day safety kayaking course
Whitewater Safety Kayaking Course on the Salza in Styria (2 days)
Safety kayaking course on the Salza in Styria – Safety kayaking course for white water
Safety should be the top priority for every white-water sports enthusiast. In our two-day safety workshop, we practise the most important rescue and recovery techniques in white water and teach you how to respond effectively in an emergency.
- Incidents involving getting stuck, rope techniques, swimming in backwaters and much more!
The basic principle is: learning by doing! We actually spend the majority of the course time on the river. The course covers the correct way to secure hazardous sections, throw bag training, boat rescues and entrapment incidents, swimming in white water and backwaters, equipment and materials, as well as knot-tying and rope techniques. - Individual crisis scenarios
Following the practical exercises, we’ll then prepare you for a wide variety of realistic scenarios on the river, in which you’ll naturally be expected to take the lead. Everyone is given an individual task which you must then solve spontaneously, as quickly and effectively as possible. Our kayak instructors are qualified guides/trip leaders and instructors with the International Rafting Federation (IRF) and have extensive experience with such simulated scenarios on the river. - Course conclusion & return
At the end of the course, we’ll reflect on all the exercises, techniques and crisis scenarios.
