The Funtastic Canyoning Tour is the ideal introduction to the fascinating world of canyoning. Just a few minutes from base camp, a beautiful forest gorge awaits you, featuring crystal-clear natural pools, natural water slides and exciting abseiling spots.

Together with our qualified guides, you’ll experience your first real canyoning adventure step by step – safely, with plenty of variety and loads of fun. The tour is deliberately designed to be perfectly suited to beginners, whilst still offering enough action to give you a real sense of adventure.

Highlights include the many slides, short climbing sections and several abseiling spots – including an impressive waterfall as the grand finale.

  • Arrival & Check-in
    Meet at our base. Welcome from our guides and a brief overview of the tour itinerary.
  • Equipment & Preparation
    You’ll be issued with your full canyoning kit: wetsuit (including socks), canyoning shoes, harness and helmet.
  • Transfer to the gorge
    Together we’ll drive for approx. 5–10 minutes to the start point (depending on group size, this may also be by private car).
  • Access
    A short walk of about 15 minutes takes us to the entrance to the gorge.
  • Safety briefing
    Our guides will explain everything you need to know: abseiling techniques, how to behave in the gorge and how to use the equipment safely – in a simple and practical way.
  • Start of the adventure
    Here we go! You can look forward to natural water slides, small jumps and exciting abseiling sections – step by step and always under expert supervision.
  • Canyoning Funtastic Experience
    Experience a varied gorge with crystal-clear water, impressive rock formations and plenty of fun. Perfect for beginners and anyone who wants to combine nature and action.
  • Finish & Return
    After the tour, we’ll head back to the starting point and then to the base, where you can get changed, have a shower and relax as the day draws to a close.

If you’re looking for suitable accommodation: Right at the starting point of the tour is the Freelife Guesthouse, offering cosy 2–4-bed rooms or dormitories, with breakfast included.

Alternatively, the Freelife Apartments are available: two fully equipped apartments, each with two double bedrooms and a private kitchen, or two double bedrooms for a maximum of two people with a shared kitchen.

  • Do I need any prior experience for canyoning?
    No. The tour is ideal for beginners. Our guides explain everything step by step.
  • What do I need to bring?
    Swimwear, a towel. If you wear glasses, a glasses strap (also available to buy on site).
  • What equipment do you provide?
    We provide a wetsuit and socks, as well as shoes, a harness and a helmet.
  • Does the tour go ahead in bad weather or rain?
    Yes – canyoning generally goes ahead even in the rain. In the event of extreme conditions (e.g. severe flooding, severe weather), we will contact you in advance. If a tour cannot take place for safety reasons, no cancellation fees will apply.
  • How long does the tour last?
    The half-day tour lasts a total of approx. 3–4 hours, including preparation and transfer.
  • Can I bypass individual sections if I don’t feel confident?
    On this tour, it is not possible to bypass individual slides or abseil sections. However, the tour starts with the easier sections and becomes progressively more challenging as you go down.
  • Is there a minimum number of participants per tour?
    For a tour to go ahead, we require at least 4 participants per session. Individuals or small groups are always welcome – we’ll pair participants with suitable groups on the day so that you’re out and about with other guests.
  • Is there a maximum number of participants per tour?
    Thanks to our extensive facilities, we can accommodate group sizes of up to approximately 32 people per time slot.
  • Is canyoning safe?
    Yes. Safety is our top priority. Our guides provide professional supervision and instruction and meet all safety standards.
  • How does transport work?
    We usually require you to provide your own private vehicles for the transfer. However, the rafting buses are often available for transport as well.
  • What happens to my valuables?
    These can be safely left at our base.
  • Are there changing rooms and showers?
    Yes, these facilities are available at our base.
  • Can I take part if I have physical limitations?
    Please make sure to discuss any health or physical limitations with us in advance so that we can cater for your individual needs.
