Gesäuse Outdoor Adventure Week

Adventure holidays in Austria – Gesäuse National Park

A week of adventure, fun and unspoilt nature in the Gesäuse National Park!

We have been successfully running our Outdoor Action Week for many years. It offers an exciting mix of outdoor sports in one of Austria’s most attractive and beautiful regions. For a whole week, our adventure playground is the great outdoors, with mountains, wild rivers and deep gorges.

    • Day 1 – Arrival day & check-in
Tip: Arrived early and already raring to go? If you’d like, you can head straight to the beautiful Wasserlochklamm gorge in Palfau – just a 20-minute drive from us.
    • Day 2 – Rafting on the Salza (half-day trip)
The Salza is a real delight of a river; fantastic white water and, above all, a breathtaking natural landscape are the hallmarks of this river. As well as the beautiful white-water sections, the highlights include the jumps into the river (optional) and the impressive Palfau Gorge at the end of the route.
    • Day 3 – Alpine Flying Fox (duration: half a day)
We’ll be embarking on an alpine tour high above the Salza Valley, featuring numerous via ferrata routes, abseiling sections and Flying Fox courses. From high above, we’ll look down on the stretch we covered the day before in our raft. A fantastic change of perspective with a proper adrenaline rush.
    • Day 4 – “Taglesbach” canyoning (duration: 5–6 hours)
A varied and action-packed canyoning tour with numerous jumps and slides – just the thing for anyone looking for a real adventure in the water and wanting a challenging, exciting tour.
    • Day 5 – High ropes course (duration: half a day)

Our high ropes course offers a wide variety of challenging stations and ensures a personalised adventure for every ability level. Thanks to courses of varying difficulty, everyone can choose their own personal challenge.

There are a total of 57 stations available, ensuring excitement and variety. The comprehensive induction on the practice course, where all the important basics are taught, is particularly appreciated. Afterwards, you can head up high as you please: balance, skill and courage are required on ropes, wooden structures, ladders and many other obstacles. On the Flying Fox course, you’ll soar at heights of up to 14 metres!

    • Day 6 – Rafting on the Enns with a Bruckgraben gorge hike (duration 5–6 hours)
One of our most popular tours, taking us right through the heart of the Gesäuse National Park. Thrilling white water and an impressive mountain backdrop are the hallmarks of this tour. During the rafting trip, we’ll stop off to explore the stunning Bruckgraben gorge – a truly exceptional gorge!

    • Day 7 – Introductory kayaking day (full day)
We’ll show you the key techniques on the practice lake in a sort of crash course, and with a bit of practice and talent, we’ll follow this up with a tour on an easy stretch of the Salza. Motto: Everyone can manage at least the first part of the Eskimo roll. If the water levels are too high, we’ll head to the nearby swimming lake instead.
